Fair Trade Original has adopted an individual approach to conducting business on the basis of a method which results in both an appealing product range and offers development opportunities to the makers of the products in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Our business approach is the result of many decades of experience with both disadvantaged producers and consumers who opt for fair trade products: we are specialized in building bridges between these two worlds.


In addition to marketing development trade products, Fair Trade Original organizes commercial development programmes for our trading partners that enable them to achieve a sustainably stronger position in the market. Moreover, our socio-economic programmes promote the personal development of farmers, craftsmen and employees. Over the years, Fair Trade Original has developed an in-house method for these programmes which is based on the KLIMMMOPS model. Fair Trade Original finances part of these development programmes and seeks funds for the remainder from third parties. Fair Trade Original initiates and coordinates the programmes, calls in external experts and makes arrangements for an appropriate evaluation of the programmes.
